Leather folio cases protect your iPhone’s screen from prying eyes, as well as from getting scratched by loose items in your briefcase or purse. Inside that front flap, there are slots for up to three credit cards. The case can also be folded into a stand, which is a nice feature.

These cases come with your choice of a strap closure or a magnetic closure, and are available in black or cognac brown. Both the magnetic and strap closures have their potential issues. The strap can get in the way when using the flash as a flashlight, but the strap does give you a handle to use when watching videos on your phone. One recurring issue we’ve seen in user reviews of this case is that some of the lighter colors will stain if kept in the pocket of a pair of jeans. To combat this issue, you could simply not keep your phone in your pocket, or buy a darker case. Alternatively, you could remove the phone from the case, and treat the case with a product like Lexol or Leather Honey.

Unfortunately, we’ve seen some people re-selling these Apple cases on Amazon and other websites at prices higher than what you’d pay at the Apple Store. You need to check prices carefully before you buy if you don’t want to overpay. Your best bet is to buy direct from Apple (where you’ll pay about $45), or to seek out more reasonably priced case listings on Amazon. As of this writing, we’re seeing some Amazon sellers offering this case for $39.73 new, or gently used from $23.99.
